New Car Registration

According to RTO guidelines a vehicle that has not been registered is not allowed to ply on the streets. Ensure that the dealer from whom you bought the vehicle completes the following formalities in all respects.
 

The forms required for vehicle registration are:
1. Form No 20
2. Form No 21
3. Form No 22
4. Invoices from the Manufacturer and dealer
5. Insurance of Vehicle
6. Address proof of registered owner
 

In case you are buying your vehicle through Hire purchase or leasing, there are additional forms that you will have to fill.

The following documents are required in order to apply for hire purchase or leasing
1. Original Certificate of registration
2. Hire purchase/Leasing form in duplicate. (Signed by both parties)
3  Confirmation letter from financier
4. Valid insurance copy
5. Valid pollution certificate copy

 

 

 

Used Vehicle Registration

The following forms are required to be filled in when a used vehicle is sold.
It is mandatory for the transfer of ownership to take place as soon as possible.

1. No Objection Certificate (in triplicate)
2. Notice of Transfer ship (in duplicate)
3. Transfer of Ownership Form (in Duplicate)
4. Intimation of Transfer of Ownership of Vehicle
a. By Transferor (T.C.R)
b. By Transferee (T.C.A)
5. Residential Proof of Buyer
6. Valid Insurance Policy
7. Valid Pollution Certificate
8. Sale Confirmation Letter in Case the Vehicle is Registered in Company's Name
9. Original Certificate of Registration
10. Taxation Book (For vehicles registered before 1/November/1997).
11. Municipal Tax Receipt
 

 

 

Vehicle Transfer Registration

As a rule it is necessary for you to re-register your vehicle when you move from one RTO jurisdiction to another.


The following documents are required when you undertake to re-register your vehicle.
1. Original Certificate of Registration.
2. Application for Registration of vehicle.
3. Application for Assignment of New Registration Mark for Removal of a Vehicle to Another State.
4. Application for Grant of No-Objection Certificate (in duplicate)
5. Valid Insurance Photocopy
6. Valid Pollution Certificate Photocopy
7. Vehicle for Verification
8. Affidavit
9. Address Proof
 

 

 

Duplicate Registration

Registration of vehicles is compulsory and so is carrying the valid documents. Therefore in case of loss of a registration book,it is compulsory that you get a duplicate made.
