Honda City faces recall

Known for building reliable and trouble free cars, Honda has issued a recall for its mid-size sedan, the City.

The Japanese carmaker which has built a formidable reputation amongst premium cars buyers in India will be recalling 57,853 City cars in India due to a faulty engine part. The cars affected include the latest generation model, manufactured between November 2008 and December 2009.

According to Honda, the engine of these cars contain ‘faulty lost motion springs’ in the valve train which may bend or break prematurely thereby causing abnormal engine noise and even an engine failure. Honda will be replacing this part free of cost and shall be soon communicating with owners of affected cars.
