The new Maruti-Suzuki Swift is expected to be launched in June 2011 and many dealers across the country have already begun accepting bookings for the new hatch.
As confirmed by a Maruti-Suzuki dealer in Gurgaon, the new Swift can be booked by making a payment of Rs. 50,000 (refundable) even though the final price and specifications of the car are not yet known. The dealer however expects the new Swift to cost Rs. 30,000-40,000 more than the current model and considering that the Swift has always been a fast seller, the new model could become another hit.
The new Swift is slightly larger than the current model and features styling changes both on the outside and interior. The interior is more upmarket and seemingly better built while rear legroom has also been increased. In India the new Swift will continue to be powered by existing petrol and diesel motors and an automatic transmission option is also expected later this year.
