Avis India wants you to drive your own rental car
Leading car rental company Avis has launched a drive to create awareness about self-drive car rental in India.
Typically rental cars come with company chauffeurs but Avis want to encourage self-drive, especially for holiday rentals. This is why it has launched Avis India Self Drive Himalayan & Desert Expeditions, a promotion in which select 4X4 SUVs are being offered for self-drive at inaugural rates.
How does a Tata Safari Dicor 4X4 at Rs. 2,000 a day sound. If you want something more upmarket, then how does a Ford Endeavour or even a Mitsubishi Pajero at Rs 2500/-per day sound? Self-drive makes sense for holidays as you can take the car around as if it was your own. Plus for mountain trip where the terrain is usually bad, the SUV rentals from Avis would make sense as you would save your personal car from wear and tear.
The promotion is on till 30th September’ 2010 and Avis claims that it has gotten off to a flying start.
