Fiat Linea T-Jet will launch in India by September 2010

Fiat has announced that it will launch the Linea with a T-Jet petrol engine by September this year.

The Linea T-Jet was showcased at the 2010 Delhi Motor Show and has since been caught testing around Pune as well. The T-Jet engine is a 1.4-litre unit which is turbocharged to produce 110bhp, good enough power for Fiat’s compact sedan.

The new engine will finally give the Linea the power that it deserved and the lack of which was making it struggle in the face of competition from Honda’s City and even Maruti’s SX-4. More details of the Linea T-Jet including pricing are expected closer to the date of launch.
