The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki organized a Swift Parade simultaneously in Gurgaon, Mumbai and Sriperumbudur on May 30, 2010. The goal was to achieve a Guinness World Record for the largest car parade.

The biggest gathering was at Gurgaon where 342 Swift owners (including us) gathered and drove around a 4km route. While this wasn’t good enough to beat the world record held by MINI which managed a 1,450 car parade in London in 2009, Maruti Suzuki did manage to set the record for the largest number of Maruti Suzuki cars assembled at a single location. Till date over 4.5 lakh Swifts have been sold in India since its launch in 2005 and the car is the second best selling model after the Suzuki Alto.
