Fiat has unveiled a refreshed Punto ahead of an official debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new model is dubbed as the Punto Evo and features a new front grille, revised bumpers and lights. Apart from these the exterior remains the same and many would think that the current Punto on sale in India is a better looker than this new model. The front grille seems to have been based on the cute-ish Fiat 500 and does not quite suit the macho image of the Punto.

Fiat has made major advancements in the interior however which is now even more upmarket and a nice place to spend time in. It also features a new touchscreen info-tainment system made in collaboration with Microsoft and Tom Tom. Internationally the Punto Evo will get the company’s new fuel efficient Multiair engine which directly controls airflow and combustion rates in each individual cylinder to optimize power delivery, emissions and fuel consumption. We are not sure when this update makes its way to India but it will surely come.

The Grande Punto Evo looks chic and elegant. The masculine look is missing in this car.
