BMW has rolled out the refreshed 2009 model of its best selling sedan the 3 Series in the Indian market today. In its latest avatar the 3 Series has received only minor changes to its body, interiors and controls which are hard to notice unless you are a proper BMW enthusiast. In a bid to keep the car fresh while not messing with the great performance dynamics, BMW has not altered the basic mechanicals at all but has a new range of engines on offer. Exterior styling modifications include a new front bumper with a deeper chin, revised kidney grille, bonnet with dual v-shaped lines making the front look sportier and more aggressive.

At the rear the new the 3 Series is now marginally wider and has a new bumpers, bigger L-shaped LED lights and dual exhausts giving the car more road presence. BMW has focused on consumer feedback and improved only critical features to make the new 3 Series a revitalized contender in the premium sedan race. One the inside there are minor changes in terms of equipment positioning, use of materials etc but what is new is the new iDrive system which controls the entertainment, information, navigation and telecommunications functions and is expected to be an improved more intuitive version. The air conditioning and audio controls are also new and improved for easy operation.


The new BMW 3 Series is be available in two petrol variants – 320i and 325i – and two diesel variants – 320d and 320d Highline.
