Honda today officially launched the new city in India at a function in New Delhi. Honda has brought forward the launch of the new City and it’s here within only weeks of it’s international debut in Thailand. This proves how serious Honda is about the Indian market. As we had written in our earlier post the new Honda City is powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC engine which produces a class leading 118 bhp. The new City is only little heavier than the older version and thus will have rapid acceleration which is sure to delight enthusiasts. The new City will is launched in both manual and automatic transmissions with paddle shift for the auto like the Civic. It also has a Civic type sporty steering which is small, grippy and good to hold. The new City will be offered with dual airbags, seat belt pre-tensioners and ABS as standard.

The new City variants include a 1.5(MT) and 1.5S (MT and AT) which will be available in 6 colours – Habenero Red Pearl, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Polished Metal Metallic, Bold Beige Metallic, Tafetta White and Crystal Black Pearl. The 1.5E MT comes with Grayish Beige interiors while the 1.5S (MT & AT) will have all Beige interiors. The New Honda city is priced between Rs 7.7 lakh and Rs 8.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) making it good value and a tough competitor for the Fiesta, Verna, SX4 and even the Corolla Altis.

Finally the New Honda City is launched in India. The car comes with attractive features. Even the design is more attractive when compared to the existing model.
