Suzuki’s latest small car for the world market, the A-Star will be launched by the end of October in India. What most of you wont know is that the same car is going to be christened as the new Suzuki Alto for the global market. Also Nissan will be getting these cars contract manufactured by Suzuki and will brand them as the new Nissan Pixo. This the same car will don three different names in the global market. Maruti will be manufacturing the A-Star and the Nissan Pixo at it’s Manesar plant. The Nissan Pixo has a different front grille and bumper and obviously Nissan’s badging. The Nissan Pixo and the Alto will come with a 4-speed auto which won’t be on offer in the A-Star initially. The 1 litre K-Series engine will be shared between the A-Star, Alto & the Nissan Pixo globally.
Suzuki and Nissan will display the cars at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.
