GM has put the Chevrolet Spark mini-hatch on a summer sale. The price for the base model with AC has been brought down to only Rs. 2.66 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). That is almost Rs. 1 lakh less than Hyundai’s i10 model (which has a bigger 1.1 litre engine) which is the closest rival to the Spark. GM plans to get many first time car buyers into the family fold with this offer which would be promoted through an aggressive advertisement campaign throughout the month of July.
The Spark is now a really good deal giving buyers a lot of value for only Rs. 45,000 more than the AC Maruti 800′s price. The Spark is also cheap to run as it delivers about 16-17 kmpl in city conditions. The only down side to the Spark is it’s looks which are too cute to entice male buyers. I expect the Spark to run up the sales charts this month with this sweet deal.
