UPDATE: PALIO STILE DIESEL LAUNCHED IN THREE VARIANTS – SD, SDE & SDX priced at Rs.437960, 457962 and 477968 respectively (ex-showroom Delhi).
Fiat India has unveiled the Palio Stile with the 1.3 litre multijet diesel engine at the Delhi Auto Expo 2008. The new Stile which was launched in 2007 has been selling in decent numbers considering Fiat’s aggressive TV advertisement campaign during the T20 world cup and Australia’s India tour. Though Fiat disappointed with the launch of the Stile with a 1.1 litre 57 bhp engine they delighted driving enthusiasts with the return of the 1.6 litre 100bhp Sport version. Now with the 1.3 litre Multijet diesel joining the range, sales are expected to only get better. Infact this is the same engine which is licensed to Maruti for use in the Swift DDiS and has the exact performance as that. All Palios are being manufactured at Fiats new Ranjangaon facility and the diesel Palio would be available in showrooms by February 2008.
According to Fiat’s PR department the diesel Palio Stile would cost about Rs. 4-4.5 lakh ex showroom and would come with the new Fiat logo. The Mutlijet Palio Stile on display at the expo (see picture) had the same formula red color and alloy rims as the 1.6 sport version, this spec however maybe offered only in the top variant of the diesel model. The Palio Stile 1.3 Mutlijet would compete with the Swift DDiS, Getz diesel, Skoda Fabia and the new Indica which launches soon.

palio diesel is bit heavy than swift but the engine has been tweaked to give better mileage. expect it to be around 15 km/l in normal conditions. Given the fiat build quality and good rear legroom (missing in swift) its far better than swift. But its better to wait for some time since renault is planning to launch Sandero which will be in same price range of swift but more bigger car.

ENGINE. THE DRIVE IS SUPERB,STEERING IS FANTRASTIC.THE ACCELERATION IS VERY GOOD.GOOD BOOT SPACE AND COMFORTABLE INTERIOR SPACE FOR THREE.
ONE OF THE STRONG BUILT SAFE CAR.MY FAMILY BADLY WANT ME TO BUY THIS ONE. ONLY THE GOOD TATA SALES AND SERVICE WILL BRING THE BUYERS .IF YOU DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THE LOW LOW RESALE VALUE( TIME WILL CHANGE)..ONE SHOULD GO FOR THIS ONLY.
The base model will not be provided with wheel shows which they have given in the broucher as full for all the models. so there is no need to shout out to your sales representative if you happen to face such a situation. Beware…….
