IndiBlog reveals the results of the just concluded CNBC TV18 Autocar Awards 2008.

Here is a list of the awards with their respective winner and why they won:

CNBC TV-18 Autocar Car of the Year – Hyundai i10
The most promising hatchback launch in 2007, the Hyundai i10 is likely to repeat the success of it’s predecessor, the Santro. Clever packaging, fresh design and most importantly value for money seem to have tilted the scales in the i10′s favor. The SX4 must have been a close second and would have been our choice for car of the year.

CNBC TV-18 Autocar Bike of the year Award Bajaj XCD DTS- Si
An affordable high mileage bike for the masses is what Bajaj has delivered with the XCD DTS-Si, goes on to show that high tech doesnt always mean high price.

CNBC TV-18 Autocar Manufacturer Award – Maruti Suzuki
No surprise year, the countries largest and most loved car manufacturer wins yet again.

CNBC TV-18 Autocar Man of the Year – Jagdish Khattar
The man has played a big role in getting Maruti Suzuki to where it is today and why it has won the above award. This man can read the pulse of the Indian auto industry.

CNBC TV-18 Autocar Design & Styling Award -BMW 5 Series
BMW 5 series is a controversial design, some simply love it while others loathe it, we are amongst those who love it and are glad it won. Brilliant lines, an aggressive stance, poetry in motion is what the 5 series is.

CNBC TV-18 Autocar Premium Award – BMW 3 Series
The BMW 3 series is an aspirational car. Every yound executive climbing the corporate ladder wants one of these, its a symbol to potray that you have arrived.

CNBC TV 18 Autocar Award for Viewers Choice- SX4
The Maruti Suzuki SX4 must have had a close shave with the ‘Car of the Year’ title. It hits all the right spots, has a brilliant engine, modern design, great interior room and a big boot, excellent equipment and safety gadgets and all this at a good price backed by Maruti’s wide service network, you cant really go wrong with the SX4.
Thats why it has won the maxmum number of awards including the viewers awards.

CNBC TV-18 Autocar Variant Award -Chevrolet Optra Magnum Diesel
Finally we have a car that is an Octavia beater and that too at a cheaper price. The Optra Magnum has stolen the Octavia’s thunder in the market and rightly so, a smooth and powerful engine and luxurious interiors make this a great package.

CNBC TV 18 Autocar Award for Executive Car -Honda Civic
The Civic is the most favored executive sedan, it’s sales figures are a testament to that. Just look around at the stop light, it’s like you are in a Honda showroom isnt it?
