Maruti Upgrading Engine Range to Latest Suzuki M-Series

Maruti M Series SX4 Engine Suzuki K Series Engines

Maruti Suzuki has begun the process of upgrading it’s engine range in India to the latest M-series engines. The primary motive being to meet tightening emission norms in Europe & India. The manufacturer will bring in K & M series engines which can meet Euro 4 emission norms & beyond. Till date Maruti has been using G series engines in most of it’s models including the Swift which is sold with the M series engine in developed markets. The new SX4 is the first Maruti to be sold with a M series engine and soon the Swift will also get a new 1.3 litre M series heart. The SX4 engine is imported currently but as sales of the car grow Maruti will start local production. The M series engine will come in 1.3, 1.5 and 1.6 litre capacities while the K series will power Maruti’s smaller cars in the range of 1-1.2 litre engines.
