As reported by IndiBlog, Maruti has launched the new avatar of the Zen, the Estilo in New Delhi on Tuesday, 5th December 2006. The company had withdrawn the old generation zen eight months back to clear production lines and inventory. The new Zen Estilo has been priced at Rs. 3.19 Lakh (ex-showroom delhi price) for the base variant. The top end variant which is priced a tad over Rs. 4 Lakh offers convenience features like internally controlled rear-view-mirrors, speakers in all four doors and an option of advanced safety features such as ABS and Airbags. Maruti has begun taking safety equipment very seriously across its product line.
The Zen Estilo is roomier than the original Zen, comes with a bigger engine (1061 cc Wagon R engine) delivering 64 bhp and fuel economy of around 14-16 in the city. It is taller, offers more boot space and superior air conditioning. The new Zen has been launched with a eight colour line-up offering vivid and chromatic colours. The company has chosen interesting colours like Purple Fusion, Champagne Beige, Virgin Blue and Olive Green for Zen, to go with the car’s stylish image. All we can say is that this seems like another hot seller from the Maruti Suzuki stable. What do you think?

at present there are no plans to launch the zen in LPG, the Swift diesel should be getting launched late December or early January 07.
