Tata Motors has launched the latest variant of its bread and butter model the Indica. The car’s engine has been reduced in size from 1.4 liter to 1.2 mainly to benefit from the excise benefit on small cars with engines up to 1.2 liter capacity. This means that Tata Motors has been able to shave of a cool Rs. 25,000 on this model and placed it bang in the Maruti Alto’s price range.
The Indica is more car for your buck when compared to the Alto which is rather cramped for space and also has a much smaller 800cc engine belting out only 47 bhp. Now will Maruti react by lowering the price of its best selling Alto?
